We Carry Out Crankshaft Rebuilds For The RD350 YPVS Here At PJ Motorcycle Engineers. The Yamaha RD350 ypvs like most 2 strokes has a pressed together crankshaft assembly, but unlike most two stroke cranks the crank pin (the part the big end bearing runs on) is replaceable. On the 31K 1UA RD 350YPVS crank the Crank pin is integral to the inner flywheel web. This makes the crankshaft difficult to quote for a rebuild. If there is wear to the crank pins you have to buy a complete inner web, these are £37.50 each + vat and there are 2 of them.
Depending on how worn your crank is the webs may or may not need replacing, if the big end bearing has let go then 100% it will need a new web, But if the crank has done low hours then you may get away with a std build. Without stripping the crankshaft down it is impossible to tell what parts will need to be replaced
With a Standard crankshaft build we strip all the components of the crankshaft clean and inspect for cracks then replace the following parts, Con rods, Big end bearings, Thrust washers, small end bearing, all 4 main bearings and centre labyrinth seal. All the parts are NEW and are high quality parts made in Japan IE Koyo / Hic Bearings And Long Brand Con Rods ETC.
We then build the crank on a jig which ensures the crank is phased at 180 degrees, the whole assembly is then trued by hand. The Crank is ready to be dropped into the crankcases.
The Price For A Standard Crank Rebuild Is £280.00 + VAT There are options to up-grade the big end bearings to TZ style for £20.00 + vat.
Turnaround is usually 10 days' workshop time, payment is not required until your crank is ready to send back to you. Payment can be via credit card, PayPal or bank transfer.
